Arrests following assault of a 12-year-old in Littlehampton

Police have made three arrests in connection with an assault on a schoolboy in Littlehampton on Monday 8 March, following an appeal for witnesses.

A 12-year-old boy was knocked unconscious and sustained facial injuries in the assault, which took place in old Waitrose car park in Duke Street at 10.30am. The victim, who was on his way to school, attended hospital and was later discharged.

The arrests were made on Friday 12 March.

A 13-year-old boy has been released under investigation for further enquiries to be carried out. A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy have been released without further action.

PC Daniella Gardner of Worthing Response team said: “We would like to thank the people who came forward in response to our witness appeal and helped with this investigation, as well as those who shared the appeal.”
