Campaign to tackle knife crime in West Sussex

Sussex police are joining other forces across the UK in a week of action to tackle knife crime.

It's claimed Sussex is a safe place to live, but police recognise the importance of taking proactive action with their partners to tackle the issue.

It's called operation Sceptre and during the campaign the public can hand over knives without fear of prosecution in surrender bins at various locations.

This includes kitchen knives, pen knives, flick knives, machetes and other bladed items.

Officers will also be carrying out targeted patrols in a bid to reduce knife crime in the area.
