Coastguard rescue teams have warned people to be wary of high tides, after a member of the public became trapped at Aldwick beach.
Selsey rescue team was called out to the rocks on Aldwick beach at around 8:45pm on Friday evening, after reports that a person had become trapped. Whilst travelling to the site, they received a further message to confirm that the person had managed to escape to safety; however coastguards say that this was a close call.
Tides can rise rapidly, and the public are encouraged to check tidal times before travelling to the coast. It is also recommended to download of an app, if necessary, to keep a track of the tide.
Over the past ten days, 9 people have died nationwide whilst either visiting a beach or coastline.
