Eggs help major charity fundraiser at Chichester Festival Theatre

More than 100 Plaster of Paris eggs, painted and decorated by renowned artists, are now up for auction to support a new theatre venue at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward The Nest Appeal, an initiative dedicated to creating a space for emerging talent.

The Nest, a new creative space, is a major part of Artistic Director Justin Audibert’s vision for CFT to incubate creativity in the community, hatch new work in progress and nurture growing artists. The Festival Theatre and Minerva Theatre are world-renowned, but there is huge demand for a small studio theatre to offer a programme for a younger audience in support of Chichester’s nighttime economy; to provide a base for the Emerging Artists Development Programme; and a space for CFT’s ever-increasing community programme. With sustainability at its heart, this 119-seater studio will have a thrust stage to match its sister theatres but sit nestled in the trees beside the Festival Theatre.

You can see these eggs in a special EGGshibition showcasing contributions from artists including Anne Desmet RA, Mariya Dykalo, Jeremy Gardiner, Nicola Green, Luke Edward Hall, Philip Jackson CVO, Kojo Marfo and Gavin Turk. Alongside professional and local artists, there are also contributions from members of Chichester Festival Youth Theatre, making for a stunning range.

The eggs are on display at Chichester Festival Theatre until the 23rd of November. Bidding is open until 24th November; go here to find out more https://cft.link/ewk8bo
