Littlehampton Town Council’s free Screen on the Green event is returning to East Green on Saturday 14th August for its 7th instalment
Bring a blanket, pick your spot and join the magic carpet ride as Disney's Aladdin is played on a giant 40ft inflatable screen.
The film will start at once the sun has set at approximately 8.45pm.
A variety of caterers will be on site from 7pm on the day with plenty of goodies for you to purchase. Filmgoers can indulge in a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free delights from Heavenly Crepes, La Poutines taste of Quebec, jacket potatoes courtesy of Potato Box, tea, coffee and snacks from the Littlehampton District Lion’s Club and a variety of cinema favourites from local vendors, Nic and Ben’s Entertainment.
A collection will also be taking place before and after the film to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities Arun Youth Projects, West Sussex Mind, Littlehampton Armed Forces and veterans Breakfast Club and the Arun Veterans and Armed Forced Breakfast Club.
Aladdin is a PG certificate film in the UK and is suitable for all. Children are welcome, but the late finishing time may mean that it’s more suitable for older children. This event is weather dependent.
Speaking about the exciting event, Chair of the Community resources Committee, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said: “Imagine a land, a faraway place, where after a year off, we are delighted to be able to welcome you all back and to hop on a carpet and fly to the East(ern) Green to escape briefly to “a whole new world” for a mystical land of magic with outdoor cinema fun. We would like to encourage people to take the opportunity to join in with the fun of the occasion and dress up as your favourite characters from this and other Disney films! We ask that you are all considerate of one another and we encourage everybody to check in at the event via the NHS app. Let’s do this safely.”
