West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to a thatch house in Downview Road, Felpham in the early hours of this morning (24th May).

According to their post on social media fire crews from Bognor, Littlehampton, Chichester, Worthing, Petworth and Southsea attended the scene along with aerial ladder platforms in an attempt to keep the fire under control.

Crews worked through the night and it is not known at this stage how the fire was started or whether there have been any casualties.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue have confirmed that they are now two pumps on the scene and there is a partial road closure in place. The public are being asked to find alternative routes when travelling and allow extra time for the school run this morning.
