Free family friendly fun in Littlehampton High Street this summer!

Littlehampton’s Love Local Arts events are back for the summer holidays!

You can visit Littlehampton High Street every Wednesday starting on 27th July until 24th August for free family friendly events organised by Littlehampton Town Council as part of a joint initiative with Arun District Council to support the local economy during the public realm improvement works.

Focussing on a different theme each event will offer visitors an opportunity to experience fantastic pop-up performances, live entertainment, workshops and a variety of charity and commercial stalls.

The programme of events is as follows:

  •  Wednesday 27 July: Celebrating Local Arts
  • Wednesday 3 August: Love Local Music
  • Wednesday 10 August: Saving Our Planet
  • Wednesday 17 August: Health and Wellbeing
  • Wednesday 24 August: Family Fun Day

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy browsing the many independent shops selling one-of-a-kind products ranging from gifts to locally inspired art pieces and experience fresh local food, then head to one of the many eateries for a mouth-watering meal or snack whilst benefiting from free 2-hour disc parking in all town centre car parks.

Simply pick up a disc from selected shops including Bah-humbug Sweets in Anchor Springs, David O Jones in the High Street or Littlehampton Museum near the Manor House Car Park.

Speaking about the Love Local Arts Programme, Chair of the Policy and Finance Committee, Councillor Dr James Walsh KStJ said: “The Love Local Arts programme filled the High Street with life and excitement last summer and this year’s events promise to do the same and more. It will be great to see the completed parts of the improved precinct used for entertainment especially the Clifton Road space which is now larger and more usable.

The events are an opportunity to showcase the highly creative community we have as well as a chance for people to support local
businesses during these difficult times!”

Councillor Andy Cooper, Chair of the Economy Committee at Arun District Council, said: “The Love Local Arts events proved to be popular last year and with everything on offer, we know this year will be no different. As a council, we are proud to help fund and support these events, so come along and get involved and see how well the work to transform Littlehampton town centre is progressing!”
