A house fire in Eastbourne’s Sovereign Harbour was caused by a washing machine catching alight.
Eight fire appliances, a command unit and an aerial ladder platform on scene from Eastbourne, Pevensey, Hailsham, Bexhill, Bohemia Road and West Sussex, were called to Hamilton Quay just after midnight yesterday.
Crews quickly brought the blaze under control.
Firefighters say no one was hurt.
During the incident crews used six breathing apparatus, hose reel, two thermal imaging cameras and firefighting foam.
