Police have arrested a man in Bognor Regis following allegations he was in possession of a firearm.
Sussex Police told V2 Radio that officers received a report of a man with, what was believed to be, a firearm in John Street, near to Bedford Street just before 5pm today. (2nd April).
The suspect, a 44-year-old local man, was detained by officers after he exited a shop in High Street,in the town. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearms with intent to cause fear or violence and remains in police custody at this time.
No injuries were reported and police recovered an imitation handgun.
