Counter Terrorism Policing South East has charged a man in connection with an investigation into Extreme Right Wing Terrorism in Sussex.
Thomas Smith, aged 33, of Blakes Way, Eastbourne, was charged today (10/12) with seven counts of encouragement of terrorism, contrary to section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Smith was arrested by CTPSE officers along with three other people on Thursday (4/12), a 27-year-old woman from Hailsham, and two other men from Eastbourne; aged 36 and 41, as part of a planned operation, supported by officers from Sussex Police.
Today the 36-year-old man was released with no further action.
Yesterday the 41-year-old man and the 27-year-old woman were also released with no further action.
Smith was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (11/12).
