Sussex Police told V2 Radio: "At 9am on Tuesday (11 May) Sussex Police attended Kingston Beach, Shoreham, following concerns for the welfare of a man.

"The man in his 50’s was sadly pronounced dead.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the matter has been passed to the Coroner’s Officer. Next of kin have been informed."

A video shared on Facebook by Sussex Coast Incident News Page shows Police at the scene. In a post they said: "A body has been found on the Ramp of Shoreham Lifeboat Station this morning".

The authority closed off the car park yesterday whilst investigations were carried out.

A member of the public commented to say "such sad news" with another saying "Omg thoughts are with the family of the loved one".

We don't yet know what the cause of death is, but Sussex Police are not treating it as suspicious.
