New splash zone for Forum fountains in Horsham.

Children visiting Horsham’s Forum area are set to enjoy newly refurbished water fountains soon.

At a Horsham District Council Cabinet meeting on 9 June, councillors agreed a plan to refurbish the existing fountain area in the Forum, Horsham to create a new children’s splash pad which will provide a much more interactive play area.

Cllr Christian Mitchell, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Horsham Town said:

The fountains are well loved by young and old alike and I am delighted that we are now going to upgrade them.

The new interactive splash pad will enable the fountains to continue running during the hottest months of the year. We want to ensure that another generation of children can continue to share the joy that the fountains bring.

I’m delighted that we are continuing our ongoing investment in Horsham Town Centre.

At a meeting of full Council on 22 June Horsham District councillors will be asked to approve capital funding of some £120,000 to upgrade the Forum fountain treatment system to support the new feature. Once the capital fund is approved then the detailed design will be examined.
