A Sussex Police officer charged with dangerous driving has been released with no further action by prosecutors.
PC James Kirk who is 27, was alleged to have driven through a red light while responding to an emergency call, colliding with a light goods vehicle in Brighton last September.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now withdrawn the case, saying a criminal prosecution is not in the public interest.
The matter remains with Sussex Police’s Professional Standards Department to consider misconduct proceedings.
