All lines between Barnham and Chichester have been closed after a person was hit by a train.
Southern Rail tweeted at about 2.15pm that emergency services were dealing with an incident between the two stations earlier this afternoon in West Sussex (Saturday 22nd May). There are currently delays on the coastal network across many of the stations.
It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Barnham and Chichester. All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.

Rail replacement buses have been set up by the operater to run between from Bognog Regis, Barnham, Chichester and Havant until further notice.
Travellers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys as they will need to use alternative route.
Travellers are being asked to try and delay their travel until later today (Saturday May 22nd)
Please continue to delay travel where possible.

If you need to travel, the below train shuttle services will operate where possible, but a reduced service will operate:
> Between Horsham and Arundel/Ford
> Between Brighton and Littlehampton/Ford
> Between Chichester and Havant.
