Police are looking to identify a man in relation to an attack which happened in Littlehampton.

Police want to interview him about an attack on a customer in a convenience store in Littlehampton.

At just after 4.30pm on Tuesday 30 March, the customer, a 42-year-old local man, was outside the Wick Express store in Wick Road, Littlehampton, waiting his turn to enter in a socially distanced manner, when another man brushed past him and went straight into the store. When the customer challenged this behaviour a fight broke out in which the customer was punched to the head and the suspect was seen to produce a hunting style knife before leaving and cycling off towards the town centre.

The customer sustained grazes to his hand and head.

Sussex Police say "the suspect is described as black, in his early twenties, 5'10", with black afro-style hair, and wearing a grey puffa jacket, black beanie hat and black tracksuit bottoms."

Investigator Martin George said; "If you can help us trace this man, or if you also saw anything of what happened, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 991 of 30/03."
