Rape charge after Brighton beach incident

A 42 year old Hove man has been charged with rape following an incident on Brighton beach.

The incident was reported outside a venue at Kings Arches on Brighton seafront between 2am and 2.20am on Sunday, July 31.

A 20-year-old woman is receiving support from specially trained officers.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

Police can confirm that Przemslaw Pogorzzelec, 42, of Hove, was charged with rape and with sexual assault by penetration and appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 1st.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear before Lewes Crown Court on September 29.
