A second man is charged with murder following a fatal assault in Chichester.

​​​​​​​David Hallett had been out in the city enjoying an evening with workmates at The Dolphin and Anchor, in West Street on the 20th of June when a man assaulted him; despite CPR by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dyce Barnfield, 31, of Kingstanding Road in Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of affray at the time of the incident - he has now been charged with murder, appearing in court yesterday.

Kieran Egan, 30, of Baldmoor Lake Road in Birmingham, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. He pleaded not guilty on 19 August at Hove Crown Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to stand trial at Lewes Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

A 42-year-old man from County Durham, who was arrested on suspicion of affray at the time of the incident, has been released under investigation.
