Selsey Lifeboat has helped rescue three people in a boat after it started to take on water.
The coastguard received a Mayday call in the early hours of Monday morning.
A lifeboat from Bembridge and a coastguard helicopter were also called out.
The helicopter located the vessel 22 miles south of Selsey, and the water-stricken boat was towed to Chichester Harbour.
