The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral will take place next Saturday.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed this afternoon that The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral will take place at St George’s Chapel at 3pm on Saturday, at which time there will be a national minute's silence.

Becuase of current Covid restrictions, the service will be held within the grounds of Windsor Castle with a short procession.

Prince Philip's coffin will be draped in his coat of arms with his Naval cap and sword on top, and carried in a Land Rover hearse which the Duke designed himself.

The guestlist will be confirmed soon, but it is believed that the Duchess of Sussex will definitely not be attending on the advice of her doctor.

There will be eight days of national mourning ahead of the televised funeral on the BBC.
