Witnesses sought to serious assault in Crawley Asda car park

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Crawley.

Officers were called to the car park of the Asda store in Pegler Way around 10.55am on Saturday (July 10) following reports of a man being attacked.

The victim, an 80-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.

The car park was busy at the time of the assault, and officers investigating the matter are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

A 29-year-old man from Crawley has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody at this time.
