Turning Tides – Christmas Appeal

Turning Tides, the largest provider of homeless services for single adults across West Sussex, is appealing to the community to support local people with no safe place to call home this Christmas. The appeal will enable the charity to help the increasing number of local people who are in desperate need of their services.

Across the UK one household is made homeless every three minutes. This shocking reality is something the charity is all too keenly aware of.

Donations made to Turning Tides this Christmas will help them welcome people into their frontline services providing food, clothes, warmth and round the clock support over the festive period. By donating, you will enable the charity to provide advice, guidance and practical support; they will listen and, vitally, help people build a lasting pathway out of homelessness.

If you can donate – visit the Turning Tides website: www.turning-tides.org.uk/christmas  or call their office on  01903 680748.

St Wildrids - ‘Tree-mendous’ Christmas Tree Recycling returns this year

Last Christmas, a merry band of Hospice volunteers criss-crossed the county collecting trees in return for a donation. The scheme raised over £17,500 for vital care for people with life limiting illness and their loved ones. The Hospice is keen to offer the scheme again to local communities in Chichester, Bognor Regis and the local surrounding areas.

However, they desperately needs volunteers to help collect the Christmas trees after the holiday season so they can be environmentally recycled. Without the volunteers it will be difficult to meet the demand.

Your help is needed, so if you’d like to get involved with the collection of the trees and have some spare time after Christmas please email fundraising@stwh.co.uk or call 01243 775302
