Battle for Britannia - Living History Weekend

Witness the Saxon invasion of England in one of our biggest reenactment displays of the year! Join us for a full weekend of living history and spectacular battles, as the Romans and Celts defend their homes against a warband of invading Saxons from re-enactment group Herigeas Hundas!

It’s the end of the 4th Century AD, and the Roman empire is in its dying days. So when Saxon raiders set their sights upon the beautiful landscape of Butser Ancient Farm, it’s up to the resident Romans and Celts to defend their homes! Who will win this clash of ages and reign victorious over Butser?

An immersive weekend of combat displays, battles, living history, and more. Meet every day people from the past, from the last Romans in Britain to the Saxons looking for a new home, and see the difference between a Roman legionary, a Celtic fighter, and a Saxon warrior in action!

Don’t forget to bring some pennies as there will be a Saxon traders tent selling some of their beautiful crafts throughout the weekend.
