The Selsey Pavilion Trust has secured a third grant from the Architectural Heritage Fund, receiving £17,500 to support the next phase of its restoration project.
The funding will go toward essential professional advice and technical planning, helping to bring the historic Pavilion one step closer to a full revival.
Laura Williams, Development Manager for England at the Architectural Heritage Fund, said: “It brings us great pleasure to have awarded a new grant to Selsey Pavilion Trust towards further project development work for Selsey Pavilion. Since 2021, we have been enthusiastic supporters of the Trust and their work to restore this landmark building at the heart of Selsey’s High Street. We hope that this latest support will enable the Trust to move another step closer to fulfilling their vision of fully restoring and opening the Pavilion to the community once again.”
Christian Skelton, Chair of Trustees, added: “The AHF’s continued belief in our project means the world to us. Every bit of progress is thanks to the support of the community – and grants like this give us the tools to keep going.”
Find out more about the Selsey Pavilion Trust:
The Selsey Pavilion Trust is a registered charity run by community volunteers. Established in 2017, the Trust exists to secure the long-term future and prosperity of the Selsey Pavilion for the benefit of Selsey and the Manhood Peninsula.
Following several years of fundraising, including grants from the Community Ownership Fund, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation and many others, the Selsey Pavilion Trust acquired the Selsey Pavilion freehold in February 2024.
The Trust also runs an “educate and inform” program that delivers regular talks on the Selsey Pavilion, email newsletters, and the expansion of a digital archive of over 1,200 historical records covering the Selsey Pavilion’s illustrious past.
Active collaborations with other local organisations are also in place through involvement in the Selsey Community Forum, a collective of voluntary organisations, and partnerships with Selsey’s schools and local organisations.
