Gigspanner Big Band who are in concert in St. James Church on Wednesday 15 April contain some of British folk music’s most famous musicians.

Formed by long-time Steeleye Span fiddle player Peter Knight, initially as a trio, Gigspanner Big Band has since expanded to a 6-piece band containing former Bellowhead accordion player John Boden, and BBC Folk Award winners Phillip Henry & Hanna Martin (who also perform together as Edgelarks). Add Sacha Trochet on percussion and Roger Flack on guitar to the mix together with a legacy of six highly acclaimed album releases since 2009 and the respect of the folk music fraternity is understandably immense.
