Plans to build 33 homes in Loxwood have been approved by Chichester District Council.

The application from Macar Homes, for land south of Farm Close, received unanimous support from the planning committee on Wednesday (September 9).

The council refused an application for 19 homes on the site in 2017 due to concerns about the design and the number of large homes being proposed. In 2013, plans for 17 homes were approved but never started.

The development will be accessed via Farm Close and will be made up of four one-bedroom, 11 two-bedroom, 15 three-bedroom, and three four-bedroom homes, 13 of which will be classed as affordable.

A design statement submitted with the plans said: “Careful consideration has been given to the application to ensure a high-quality proposal that maintains a coherent visual character across the wider development.

“In-depth examination of the mix of units, layout, access and movement, impact on landscape and residential amenity have been continuous throughout the design process to ensure the proposal meets the needs of Loxwood.”
