Almost 200 improvement projects are underway across Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as part of a programme aimed at creating better working environments for staff and more welcoming spaces for patients and visitors.
Operation Spring Clean was launched in response to feedback from staff, who said investment in some community sites and team bases had not always kept pace with the demands being placed on them.
Sussex Partnership provides mental health, learning disability and neurodevelopmental services across the South East.
The Trust says hundreds of staff have helped shape the programme by suggesting improvements they would like to see at their workplaces.
More than 30 projects have already been completed, with nearly 200 others currently in progress.
The work includes redecorating tired or worn areas, replacing furniture and furnishings, improving storage, deep cleaning communal spaces, landscaping outdoor areas and upgrading staff facilities.
The Trust says the initiative is designed to make practical and visible improvements while supporting staff wellbeing and enhancing the experience of people using its services.
Operation Spring Clean was introduced following findings from last year’s staff survey, which highlighted concerns about the condition of some community workspaces.
The programme allows teams to identify the areas where changes are most needed, with Estates and Facilities staff then working to deliver the improvements.

We are grateful to everyone who has submitted ideas and I want to say a massive thank you to staff across our Estates and Facilities and supporting teams who have worked so quickly and flexibly to make sure we can deliver this programme."
Sussex Partnership says the range of requests shows the pride staff take in their workplaces and their desire to create environments which support high-quality care.
Further projects will continue to be completed as part of the programme, with the Trust saying the aim is to ensure sites remain welcoming, functional and supportive for staff, patients and visitors.
