A 13-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after suffering an injury consistent with a stabbing near Eastbourne seafront.
Police were called to Grand Parade at about 5.10pm on Sunday, 20 September, following reports of a serious assault.
The incident happened close to the junctions with Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place.
Sussex Police said the boy had sustained an injury consistent with a stabbing and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
Officers are now working to trace a group of young people who were seen leaving the area following the incident.
An increased police presence is expected around the seafront while enquiries continue and officers provide reassurance to the public.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in any CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage which may have captured the incident or those leaving the scene.
