A coroner has ruled that three sisters whose bodies were recovered from the sea off Brighton died by suicide.
Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, were recovered from the water near Madeira Drive on 13 May.
Emergency services had been called at around 5.45am following concerns for people in the sea.
Sussex Police later confirmed that all three women died from drowning.
A police investigation into their deaths found no evidence that a crime had been committed and no evidence of third-party involvement.
Officers reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV, took statements from witnesses across the country and carried out enquiries into the sisters’ movements before their deaths.
Police established that the three women had been dropped off by taxi at Madeira Drive at around 10.20pm on 12 May.
Their bodies were recovered from the sea the following morning.
The matter was then passed to the coroner for an inquest into where, when and how the sisters died.
The coroner concluded that all three deaths were suicide.
The Samaritans can be reached 24/7 on 116 123.
