Eight arrests have been made and drugs and prohibited weapons seized during a police crackdown on crime and anti-social behaviour in Littlehampton.
Arun Police said officers from the Littlehampton Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out enforcement activity throughout August as part of Operation Sonar, targeting Littlehampton town centre and surrounding areas.
Police said eight people were arrested for a range of alleged offences, including theft, robbery, drugs offences, driving offences and breach of a community order.
Officers also carried out 10 stop searches and seized quantities of controlled drugs, including cocaine and cannabis.
Prohibited offensive weapons were also recovered during the operation.
Two illegal electric bikes and one illegal electric scooter were seized, while officers issued eight Traffic Offence Reports.
Two cars were also seized using Section 59 powers.
Police patrols were carried out across the area during August, with some taking place alongside Arun District Council’s Community Protection Officers.
Two Section 34 dispersal orders were authorised for Littlehampton seafront over two weekends, resulting in six dispersal notices being issued.
Arun Police said the results demonstrated the continuing work of local officers to disrupt criminal activity and tackle anti-social behaviour.

“Our officers remain dedicated to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour and will continue to take proactive action against those who seek to cause harm within our communities.”
