Goodwood Revival returns today for three days of historic racing, style and entertainment

The Goodwood Revival returns to West Sussex today, bringing three days of historic motor racing, vintage fashion and entertainment to the Goodwood Motor Circuit near Chichester.

The 2026 event runs from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September and will once again recreate the atmosphere of the circuit’s original racing years, from 1948 to 1966. Goodwood describes the Revival as an immersive celebration of historic motorsport and vintage culture, with visitors encouraged to embrace fashions from the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

This year’s event has an Italian flavour, with celebrations marking 100 years of Maserati in motor racing and the 80th anniversary of the Vespa.

More than 300 pre-1967 scooters, including Vespas, Lambrettas and other Italian machines, are due to take part in the Track Opening Parade each day. A special La Dolce Vita experience will also bring post-war Italian style and culture to the event.

Friday’s programme is busier than in previous years, with 13 official practice sessions followed by two races during the evening.

The opening parade will be followed by practice for cars competing in events including the St Mary’s Trophy, Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, Chichester Cup, Brooklands Trophy and Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.

Friday’s competitive action will conclude with Part One of the St Mary’s Trophy followed by the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy.

The weekend will also celebrate the careers of two major names in motorsport.

Sir Jack Brabham is being remembered during the centenary of his birth and 60 years after he secured his third Formula One World Championship, while motorcycle racing legend Barry Sheene is being celebrated 50 years after winning his first world title.

Some of the biggest names in motorsport are also expected to compete at Goodwood.

Formula One World Champion Jenson Button is among those taking part, alongside Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, Hélio Castroneves and a host of other championship-winning drivers and riders.

Another major attraction will see the three Ford GT40 MkIIs which completed Ford’s famous one-two-three finish at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours reunited at the Revival. The cars will be displayed and are also expected to appear on track during the weekend.

Away from the racing, visitors can explore vintage shops, the Revival High Street, a traditional fairground and cinema, while the Revival Style Stage will host fashion shows, demonstrations and special guests.

The Best Dressed Competition will take place each afternoon, with guests on the Style Stage this year including Dame Zandra Rhodes, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Golda Rosheuvel.

Historic aviation will also form part of the weekend, with the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Supermarine Spitfire and the 80th anniversary of the de Havilland Chipmunk.

V2 Radio will also be at the heart of this year’s Revival with its Live and Local stage.

Local bands and dancers have been given the opportunity to perform throughout the weekend, with music inspired by the Revival decades of the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

V2 Radio will also be showcasing and promoting the local performers across its social media channels during the event.

The main Goodwood site opens to the public at 8.30am each day, with activity on the circuit beginning from 8.45am. Car parks open at 7am, while the Over the Road area opens from 7.30am.

The Goodwood Revival continues until Sunday, when the racing programme builds to the RAC TT Celebration before a new closing party takes place on the circuit to round off the 2026 event.
