Hastings RNLI has announced the death of one of its crew members following a medical incident at the town’s lifeboat station.
The death happened on Wednesday evening.
In a statement, Hastings RNLI said it was “devastated” by the loss of what it described as a much-loved member of the crew.
The charity said: “We are devastated that one of our much-loved crew members died following a medical incident at Hastings RNLI lifeboat station.
“Please respect our privacy, and that of our family and friends, at this awful time.”
No further details about the crew member or the circumstances surrounding the medical incident have been released.
Hastings RNLI has asked for the privacy of the crew member’s family, friends and colleagues to be respected.
