A festive fun run is returning to Havant this winter, with organisers calling on people to get involved.
The Mental Elf Festive Fun Run takes place at Staunton Country Park on Sunday 29th November, in aid of mental health charity Havant and East Hants Mind.
Registration opens at 9.30 am, with the run starting at 10.30 am. Participants can walk, jog, run, skip or push a buggy around the 5km route, which consists of two laps of a 2.5km course through the park. Families can also opt for a one-lap, 2.5km walk instead.
The event is open to all ages and abilities, and dogs are welcome too, as long as they're kept on a short lead throughout.
Entry costs £15 for adults, or £45 for a family ticket covering two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. Children aged four to 15 also cost £15, while under-fours go free. Dog tickets cost £1.
Every entry includes a Mental Elf medal, along with snacks and water at the finish line.
Organisers say the event highlights the importance of staying physically active for mental wellbeing, particularly during the winter months, while raising vital funds for the charity's local services.
Paid parking is available on site at Staunton Country Park, and the course itself is unpaved in places, so organisers advise wearing appropriate footwear.
Anyone unable to attend on the day can still support the cause by donating through the charity's JustGiving page, or by setting up their own fundraising page once registered.
