Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 30s was assaulted at a restaurant in Fleet.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary says officers were called to The Kara on Fleet Road at around 8.30pm on Friday, 18 September.
Police said an officer attended the scene and attempted to detain a suspect, but was grabbed by several customers.
Those involved then fled the scene.
Officers have since been carrying out enquiries and are now asking anyone who was in the restaurant or on Fleet Road at the time to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant video footage.
