Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted during a reported racially aggravated public order incident in Portsmouth.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were called shortly after 11pm on Sunday 27 September to reports of a man throwing beer cans and trying to hit people in Twyford Avenue.
A 32-year-old man was assaulted and taken to hospital with injuries to his head and arm.
He has since been discharged.
Police also believe the victim’s shoe was stolen during the incident.
Officers are continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances and have released an image of a man they would like to speak to who was in the area at the time and may have information.
He is described as white, bald, with tattoos on his head and face, and was wearing black clothing.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
They also want to hear from anyone who saw a man matching the description in the area.
