The Selsey Shantymen have cancelled a planned performance at Selsey RNLI this weekend.
The group had been due to perform at the lifeboat station on Sunday 20 September, but announced the cancellation in a post on Facebook.
The Selsey Shantymen have built up a big local following, regularly performing at community events, charity fundraisers and maritime-themed occasions across the Selsey area and beyond. Their traditional sea shanties and lively performances have made them a familiar presence locally, with appearances often attracting supporters and helping to raise money for good causes.
In the statement, the group said: “Regrettably, due to the current circumstances, and following discussions with the RNLI, we will be postponing our planned performance at Selsey RNLI this Sunday (20th September). We’re very sorry.”
No new date for the performance has yet been announced.
