Volunteers at The Hidden Garden in Selsey are celebrating after receiving the highest possible rating in a Royal Horticultural Society community gardening scheme.
The team was presented with a Level 5 Outstanding award in the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood programme at RHS Wisley in Surrey on Friday 25 September.
The scheme supports small, volunteer-led community groups and rates projects from Level 1 through to Level 5 Outstanding.
It was the first time The Hidden Garden had entered the scheme.
Paul Sadler, Grow Selsey Manager, said: “It is the first time we have entered this scheme and are thrilled to have achieved this prestigious RHS Level 5 Outstanding Award.
“Our volunteers work so hard throughout the year to make our community garden a delightful place to visit and be inspired.”

The Hidden Garden is a community project encouraging people in Selsey to get involved in growing fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
It also provides space for wildlife and is open to people of all ages and abilities.
The project is organised by Selsey Community Forum and maintained by a dedicated group of local volunteers.
The garden is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
The award forms part of the South & South East in Bloom programme, which is affiliated with the RHS Britain in Bloom campaign.
The regional scheme celebrates community gardening, horticulture and environmental responsibility across areas including Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent and Surrey.
