A St Leonards man has pleaded guilty to a series of child sex offences after police were alerted to sexual messages found on a teenage girl’s phone.
Sussex Police received a report on Wednesday 16 September after the girl’s mother discovered messages between her daughter and an adult man.
The victim, who has lifelong anonymity as a victim of a sexual offence, and her family are being supported by officers.
Logan Bailley, 25, of Sheridan Road, St Leonards, was arrested and later charged with four counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a child, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.
He pleaded guilty to all charges at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 September.
Bailley was released on court bail and is due to be sentenced on 27 November at a court yet to be confirmed.
At the time of the offences, Bailley was working as a member of support staff at Mulberry Academy in St Leonards-on-Sea.
Sussex Police said he had previously worked at Hollington Primary School in St Leonards and had also held a position at West St Leonards Primary School.
Detective Inspector Mors Lambert said: “Sussex Police and our partners responded swiftly as soon as these allegations came to light, bringing about a rapid conviction and ensuring Logan Bailley could no longer work in a position with access to children.
“I would like to thank the victim and her family in this matter, who have shown great courage to ensure no one else could be harmed.
“While there is currently no evidence to suggest any other children have been affected, given Bailley’s history of professional roles in positions of trust and with access to children, enquiries are ongoing alongside our partners to identify any other potential victims.”
