Motorcyclists across Sussex are being urged to carry out a series of basic safety checks before heading out on the road.
The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership says riders should make sure their bikes are roadworthy by checking key parts before every journey.
The partnership is encouraging motorcyclists to use the POWDERS checklist, which stands for petrol, oil, water, damage, electrics and rubber.
It says carrying out these simple checks can help identify potential problems before they become more serious and could reduce the risk of a breakdown or collision.
The advice forms part of a wider road safety campaign aimed at both new and experienced riders across Sussex.
Motorcyclists are being encouraged to pay particular attention to tyres, lights, fluid levels and any visible damage before setting off.
The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership says regular maintenance is especially important for riders returning to their bikes after a period off the road.
Further advice on motorcycle maintenance is available through the New Rider Hub website. https://newriderhub.net/your-bike/maintaining-your-bike/
