The family of a 76-year-old woman who died following a collision on the A3057 near Goodworth Clatford have paid tribute to her.
Police were called shortly after 5.45pm on Saturday 29 August to the collision, which happened between the A303 junction and Cowdown Lane.
The incident involved a light-coloured Fiat Punto and a dark-coloured Toyota Land Cruiser, which were travelling in opposite directions.
Gillian Dixon, from Houghton, was a passenger in the Fiat and sustained serious injuries.
She was taken to hospital, where she later died.
Her family have now released a tribute, saying: “It is with great sadness that our family announce the death of Gillian ‘Gilly’ Dixon. Wife, Mum, Grandma, Mumma G or friend, however you knew her she would have touched your heart in the biggest of ways.
“The kindest, most caring and gentle person, she put everyone before herself and worried about everyone, even those she barely knew.
“Born and bred in Hampshire, she loved the countryside, living in Winchester, Stockbridge and Houghton. A hairdresser all her life and in retirement enjoying days out with her beloved husband Clive, together for 61 years and married for 56.
“She enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by her family, tending her garden with her dogs and chickens around her feet or having a good chat over a coffee with friends, she was a true lady.
“She will be truly missed and many have shared that Stockbridge won’t be the same without Gilly.”
Police say the driver of the Fiat, an 80-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a stable condition.
Police enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
