The family of a 74-year-old woman who died at an address in Portsmouth have paid tribute to her as a “kind and loving person”.

Carole Langley was pronounced dead after police were called to a reported domestic incident at an address in Cyprus Road on Monday 14 September.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police launched a major crime investigation following her death.

Scott Langley, 48, of St Pauls Road in Southsea, has since been charged with murder.

Carole’s family have now paid tribute to her, saying: “Carole was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a kind and loving person who always put her family and loved ones before herself.

“She will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, kindness and beautiful memories will live on in all of us.

“The family would like to thank everyone who have left kind messages of condolence but please ask to respect our privacy at this very difficult time.”

Carole’s family are being supported by specialist officers while the police investigation continues.
