Business owners across West Sussex are being encouraged to apply for the next round of a fully funded leadership development programme.
Future CEO, delivered by the West Sussex Growth Hub, is designed to help business leaders strengthen their leadership skills, tackle challenges and plan for future growth.
The programme brings together a small group of between eight and ten business leaders in a confidential setting, giving participants time away from day-to-day pressures to focus on strategy and longer-term priorities.
Sessions are professionally facilitated, with members discussing real business challenges and drawing on the experience of others in the group to explore new ideas and practical solutions.
The programme is aimed at businesses dealing with issues such as growth, performance, future planning and workforce challenges.
Previous participants have said the scheme helped improve their confidence, decision-making and clarity over the future direction of their businesses.
Councillor Yvonne Gravely, West Sussex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said: “Businesses succeed when leaders have the confidence, skills and support to make the right decisions at the right time. Future CEO gives business owners the chance to step back from day-to-day challenges, broaden their thinking and gain fresh insight from other experienced leaders.
“As a council, we're committed to investing in the growth ambitions of our business community because successful businesses create jobs, drive innovation and strengthen the local economy. Future CEO is a fantastic example of that commitment in action, and I would encourage eligible businesses across West Sussex to apply.”
To qualify, businesses must be based and operating in West Sussex, have been trading for at least two years and have an annual turnover of between £100,000 and £1 million.
They must also employ at least three people and have a business owner or senior leader able to commit to the programme.
The West Sussex Growth Hub provides free and impartial advice and support to small and medium-sized businesses across the county.
Applications for the next Future CEO cohort are now open, with places limited.
