Witness appeal after pedestrian seriously injured in A29 collision near Bognor Regis

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision on the A29 near Bognor Regis.

Sussex Police said the incident happened on Shripney Road between Shripney and Lidsey late on Sunday, 6 September, into the early hours of Monday, 7 September.

The collision is understood to have taken place between 11.50pm and 12.15am.

Police said a Toyota Yaris collided with a pedestrian who was in the road south of Lidsey Caravan Park.

The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to motorists who were travelling along the A29 in the area at the time and may have captured the incident, or the moments leading up to it, on dashcam.

Police have asked people responding to the appeal to quote serial 14 of 07/08.
