Bank card and mobile phone stolen from collapsed woman in Bognor Regis

A woman who collapsed in the town centre found her bank card and phone had been stolen from her as she lay unconscious.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman’s personal belongings were stolen in Bognor Regis.

The victim – a 48-year-old local woman – was walking alone along London Road around 8.50pm on 21 December when she collapsed and hit head her on the floor.

She was helped by a number of people including a couple, who drove her home. It was at this point she discovered her mobile phone and bank card were missing.

Enquiries revealed her card had been used for a number of low-value transactions in nearby shops shortly after the incident.

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward. Officers are particularly keen to hear from a man riding a bicycle who also stopped to assist, as he may hold vital information to assist in our investigation.
