A Brighton filmmaker and Royal Marines ambassador is marking his 75th birthday with an extraordinary series of endurance challenges to raise money for charity.
Chris Terrill has already completed the Brighton Half Marathon and is now preparing to take on both the Brighton and London Marathons in the coming weeks. His efforts are in support of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, which helps serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Brighton-based Chris is no ordinary runner: at 55, he became the only civilian (and oldest person ever) to earn his Royal Marines green beret on merit, and 2 years ago completed the Brighton Marathon on crutches just months after a hip replacement, a feat ratified by Guinness World Records.
Now, as he celebrates his 75th year, Mr Terrill is once again putting his endurance to the test, combining multiple marathon events with a mission to give back.
His latest fundraising challenge aims to highlight the work of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, while inspiring others to support those who serve.
Chris says: "These challenges aren’t about personal milestones, but about honouring the extraordinary Royal Navy family that has shaped my life. This is my way of saying thank you."
