Community centre in Bognor Regis launched

A community centre in Bognor Regis, where everyone is welcome, has been launched with a range of new activities chosen by the public.

The Bersted Green Hub is part of the Arun Community Engagement Project and is a space to bring all members of the local community together to meet socially, exercise and gain help and support from the Arun Wellbeing team and local charities.

At the launch event on Saturday 2 April, families enjoyed a host of activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, raffle, games and taster dance classes. Arun Wellbeing, MIND, Cancer United, Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester, Citizens Advice Arun & Chichester, Aspire Sussex, Age UK, Osborne and Freedom Leisure were also there to offer information and advice.

Chairman of Arun District Council, Jim Brooks who attended the launch event said:

“I had the honour of not only attending the launch of the Bersted Green Hub but also judging the children’s colouring competition, for which there were a lot of great entries!

This community centre will provide a great space at the heart of the community for people to come together to support each other and have fun. I am so glad we are supporting more places like this across the district.”
