Horsham’s Rec Rink to extend its stay

By popular demand, Horsham’s first indoor ice rink, the Rec Rink will now stay open until the end of March 2022.

The Rec Rink, created jointly by the Rec Rooms team and Horsham District Council, has exceeded all expectations in terms of the volume of people wishing to enjoy its facilities, attracting both local skaters and visitors from far outside the County.

The Rec Rink will be open for public skating with sessions on Thursday evenings and all day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Sessions will include the famous DJ nights, Student Nights, Quiet Skate, and Ice Club, as well as free skating for NHS and emergency services workers.

For just £10, skaters will get an hour on the ice. The brilliant Ice Marshals will be around to help skaters, as well as the familiar trusty skate aids.

The Rec Rink would like to thank everyone that has supported it up until now and looks forward to seeing lots of smiley skaters in 2022!

The rink will still support local groups such as scouts, schools, special needs schools and NHS staff.

It will also accommodate the ice hockey enthusiasts that have now taken up residence at the venue along with some special opening days for larger groups and special needs groups.

To date over 13,000 skaters have been welcomed with some fantastic reviews that mainly focus on the incredible team of marshals and staff working at the rink. Over 1,000 free tickets have been given away to local businesses and this is now set to continue into March. Over 30 staff are employed.

Lily Proto from the Rec Rink said "we would like to take this opportunity to thank local people and Horsham District Council for supporting us in this project, without this support we would not have been as successful as we have been.
