Veteran TV presenter and dancer Lionel Blair dies at 92

Veteran entertainer, TV presenter and dancer Lionel Blair has died aged 92 his agent says.

Lionel Blair, whose stage and screen career spanned eight decades, passed away early this morning (4th November).

Best known as a team captain of the TV game show Give Us A Clue, in recent years he appeared on shows such as Celebrity Big Brother.

Born in Canada in 1928, he moved to the UK as a young boy and began performing in air raid shelters in World War Two.

On the West End, he played the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, also choreographing and appearing in TV shows featuring Ella Fitzgerald and Liza Minnelli, and a Royal Variety performance with Sammy Davis Jr.

He married wife Susan in March 1967 and the couple had three children and three grandchildren.
