Man dies while kitesurfing off the West Sussex coast

A kitesurfer has died after getting into difficulty in the sea just off the coast in West Sussex.

Emergency services were called to the beach at Bracklesham Bay, Chichester, at about 13:15 on Wednesday 29th December.

Paramedics from SECAmb also attended, but police officers confirmed he was declared dead at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been informed, as well as the coroner’s office. No details about the man's age or identity have yet been released.

A reminder from Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team that in an emergency out at sea, on the beach or along the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
