Crimestoppers has increased its reward to £30,000 for information that could help solve the murders of a Burgess Hill father and son.

Daniel Poole, who is 46, and his son Liam, who is 22, disappeared while on a trip to Spain in March 2019.

They had travelled to Málaga and hired a car, which was later found abandoned.

The case was reclassified as a murder investigation in 2022.

In 2022, Sussex Police authorities reclassified the case as a murder investigation. Two men — one from West Sussex, one from Merseyside — were arrested in December 2024 as part of ongoing enquiries.

Now, to help secure the final crucial details needed to identify and convict those responsible, the reward has been significantly increased to £30,000.

Annabelle Goodenough, Sussex Regional Manager at charity Crimestoppers, said:

“Danny and Liam’s family have lived in uncertainty for almost seven years. They deserve to know what happened.

“The reward has been significantly increased to encourage anyone holding back to come forward. Even the smallest detail could make all the difference in finally bringing those responsible to justice.

“Please remember, when you speak to Crimestoppers, you stay completely anonymous. That means no comeback. We’ve kept our promise since we were established over 38 years ago.”

The £30,000 reward will be available for information passed exclusively to Crimestoppers that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murders of Daniel and Liam Poole. Crimestoppers is urging anyone who may have seen, heard, or have been told something to come forward now. To be eligible for the reward, anyone contacting the charity must request a reward code during their first contact.

Lauryn Poole, Danny’s daughter and Liam’s sister, said:

“Not a day goes by when we don’t think about Danny and Liam. Living without answers has been agonising. We need to know the truth, for them and for our family’s peace of mind.

“If you know something, however small, please contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously. Your information could be the key to finally giving us justice we’ve waited almost seven years for.”

Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers completely anonymously on 0800 555 111 or complete a secure online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org. Your identity will never be known and you will not have to speak to the police or appear in court.
