Police investigating an assault on a boy in Worthing have made an arrest.
Officers were called to West Park, off Shaftsbury Avenue, at 4.06pm on Saturday 18 September following a report of an assault on a 14-year-old boy.
The victim suffered facial injuries in the assault, which happened around 3.30pm that day.
On Tuesday (September 21), officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was interviewed and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PS Craig Burgess of Worthing Police said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young victim and we have been able to make a swift arrest following a number of enquiries.
"We take violence against young people incredibly seriously and will always look to take positive action."
